Dr. Alberto Casaretto Past-President

Dr. Casaretto was born in Fall River, Massachusetts and raised in Ft. Lauderdale. He graduated from college and medical school at Tufts University in Boston. He completed his medical residency training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Casaretto’s completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Dr. Casaretto founded REHC in 2000. He has dedicated his life to building a world-class practice for his patients. His special interests are diabetic kidney disease, transplantation, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. In addition to English, Dr. Casaretto also speaks Spanish and French.

Dr. Casaretto has held many leadership positions, including but not limited to the following: President of the Broward County Medical Association, Vice-Chief of Internal Medicine at Broward Health Imperial Point, Chair of Credentialing Committee at Broward Health Imperial Point, Member of Critical Care Committee at Broward Health Medical Center, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Broward County Medical Association and Delegate to the Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Casaretto has authored numerous articles on dialysis including most recently “Urgent Start Peritoneal Dialysis: Report from a US Private Nephrology Practice” published in Advances in Peritoneal Dialysis (2012). Dr. Casaretto also presented this data at the Annual Conference on Peritoneal Dialysis in San Antonio, Texas in Febrauary 2012.

Dr. Casaretto is passionate about teaching and mentoring our future physicians as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Nova Southeastern University School of Medicine since 2003. Internal Medicine Residents at Broward Health Medical Center spend a mandatory month long training with REHC in their second year of training.
